Simple is often effective with kids and smoothies – like, adding antioxidant rich dark cocoa and chocolate protein powder, or Good Fat powder. I like both protein and fat in this recipe – because both contribute to feeling full, as does the spinach in this smoothie. Most importantly, my son and I love to down it after one of my classes – we have it at least twice a week!
- 2 cups spinach
- 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk or coconut water (or plain water is fine, not as rich or sweet.
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen dark cherries
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder of Good Fat
- 1 tbsp dark cocoa
- 2 tbsp hemp or chia seeds
Place the greens and fruit in bottom, along with seeds, top with powder and then milk. Blend low to high in high speed blender and then serve.
