Spinach or Kale? Switch it up.
I love a smoothie that tastes great with either spinach or kale. Both have amazing health benefits, and sometimes it is nice to mix them both together!
What makes this gutsy smoothie have that little anti-inflammatory kick? The addition of tumeric. It might not be for everyone, but if you really want to heal the gut give it a try! The active ingredient in tumeric stimulates antioxidant stimulation in the body.
- 2 cups of washed and chopped kale or spinach
- 1 cup frozen mango
- ½ banana chopped (you should have a bag of banana halves in your freezer)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup coconut water (or two cups water)
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped ginger
- 1 tsp tumeric.
- 1 tsp chia seeds
Blend all ingredients together in a blender / Vitamix. Add additional water if you want to thin it out more like a juice, and sip throughout the day. Put in a mason jar to transport and shake up as needed.
